The season of Imbolg begins on 1st February for over six weeks. Imbolg means “in the belly of”.

All that has seeded and gestated from Samhain to Winter Solstice to Imbolg is gestating within the world womb of creativity stirring all that is almost ready to be born anew.

Goddess Brigid is the guardian of this threshold at the time of Imbolg. As triple goddess, she holds powerful energies on the land of Ireland and beyond. We honour her deep wisdom, poetic words, healing qualities and longevity, becoming St. Brigid as Ireland moved to Christianity.

Goddess Brigid passes the torch to Goddess Bóinn in the next spiral of the alchemical process. Colourful flowers have pushed their way through the darkness of the fertile soil to greet the emerging light of spring. Opening their delicate petals to reveal their beauty within.

Celebrating Pádraig Pearse

As the wheel of the year turns, we step from Spring Equinox into Bealtaine in the northern hemisphere and from Autumn Equinox into Samhain in the southern hemisphere.

In the northern hemisphere, Goddess Bóinn passes the torch to Queen Maebh. Queen Maebh reminds us of the truth of the sovereignty that lies within. Her energies reside throughout Ireland, including at her Rath, her fort by the Hill of Tara.

This Bealtaine gathering took place 24th April 2025, the anniversary of the Easter 1916 Rising which was a key turning point in Ireland’s sovereignty as a nation. As such, we celebrate Pádraig Pearse, a key person in the rising and one who your host, Eimear Stassin, has close emotional connections with.
