The Changing of the Seasons is upon us once again as we move from Autumn Equinox into Samhain in the Northern Hemisphere
Horse Goddess Macha now passes the torch to Tlachtga & Mogh Ruith as we enter the season of Samhain. The wheel of the year guides us to shift into the north-westerly direction, thus further into the darkness. The light fades and days appear shorter.
Samhain is the Irish for the month of November. Samhain is the time of Celtic New Year. Samhain welcomes us slowly into her witchy arms, commanding that we descend deeper into the darkness, the unseen realms. To embrace any fears, blocks or blind spots. To acknowledge and honour what lies in the shadows; what is ready to be witnessed and dissolved. As the autumn leaves fall to the earth to compost, this is our cue to enquire into what is dying within and no longer necessary to carry.
The undeniable presence of darkness and death are part of the cycle of birth and rebirth as encoded into the triple spiral. Our ancestors knew this and we are remembering and remembering again!
